The Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkins were first observed in use by Native Americans who used pumpkin seeds for both food and medicine. Pumpkins were also once recommended for use in removing freckles and curing snake bites. And while the flowers are edible, today we think of the fruit, not only for cooking but also for decorative reasons.

Goughan’s Berry Farm would like to offer your family the opportunity to round out the fall season in celebrating fun, freshness and the outdoors in a pick your own pumpkin visit, to our farm. Every year we prepare our fields for our pumpkin crop which will allow our customers to find just the right one to fit their needs. During the months of September and October you are welcome to come pick your own pumpkin for your carving fun. Decorate your home with our autumn harvest, featuring various types and sizes of pumpkins and gourds. Don’t forget Indian corn, bales of straw, corn stocks, garden mums and Halloween items for that extra decorating touch for the house or yard.

Toughen Farms offers two ways in which to meet your pumpkin needs. Make an appointment for a farm scenic hayride to our seven acre pumpkin field where the whole family can walk the fields in search of that Great Pumpkin or you can look through the many pumpkins we have harvested from the field and have on display next to the dairy bar. There are always hundreds of pumpkins to pick through.

We invite you and your family to have fun, enjoy a hay wagon ride and get a fresh pumpkin all at the same time here at Goughan’s Berry Farm.
